*Edited to add: there are so many AMAZING providers out there working tirelessly to help their patients live better lives. I am incredibly thankful for the ones on my care team! This is not an easy condition to treat, and we have a long way to go in growing awareness and education - we can’t blame the providers. For now, we can try to laugh together until the world better understands us zebras. 🦓

🦓 Day 1 of the Ehlers Danlos Society .danlos International Scientific Symposium was absolutely fantastic!

I’m exhausted but so energized by all I’ve learned and the incredible people I’ve met already.

I assumed there would be a decent number of attendees who have or themselves, but was blown away to find that 90%+ have lived experience as well as clinical expertise.

I’m inspired and in awe of the brilliant minds and compassionate humans here. It’s going to be a great week.
