This weekend is going to have a heatwave, so stay hydrated and know where your available cooling stations are!

As the weather starts to cool down, though, think about hosting a staycation for yourself and close friends, complete with table or chair massage.

Or, think about booking a Tarot reading with me 🙂

I no longer have an office, but I am happy to come to you with Mobile Massage and/or Tarot!

First day of school!

It’s been a rough year, and the transition back into classes is going to be way more stressful.

If you are or know a teacher who could use a massage, now until the end of the Fall semester, Educators (and educational support staff) get:
10% off (=$63) for 60 min sessions (normally $70/60 min),
and 20% off (=$80) for 90 min table sessions. (Normally $100/90 min)

I will also be doing 20% off chair massage (=$64/hr) for group wellness events for educators (15 min increments, normally $80/hr, minimum 2 hour booking).

Please message me for bookings or with any questions you have.

**You may also purchase a massage as a gift for an educator at this rate.**

“Self Care” is a complicated topic.

Massage is a wonderful self care tool, but it cannot be the only one you use. (It’s also no substitute for community care, but that’s a longer topic to tackle.)

Expressing ourselves is self care. Being honest with ourselves is self care. Surround yourself with things that make you happy is self care.

I got this beautiful banner from Sew Optimystic for my massage room a couple years ago, and looking at it always makes me smile.

It makes me remember to celebrate milestones. It makes me remember how many strong, amazing, kind, wonderful people I know, like the artist, Juxlav. (It reminds me to remind myself that Im not so bad either.)

Being yourself is hard. (Being a person is hard.) Figuring out how to adapt to difficult challenges is hard. Keeping all our plates spinning is hard.

Running a small business is hard.
Supporting small businesses is both self care and community care.

Being your own cheerleader is some of the best you can do.

Celebrate yourself and the people you love in whatever ways make you happy... but consider that the best way to do that might be with beautfiul handmade banners celebrating You.

A beautiful chilly morning!

Golden light streaming across muddy yards, a waning gibbous moon watching over us. Birds lazily circling overhead.

Yesterday felt like spring, so much so that I carried the warmth thru to today and wore flip-flops to work.

Spring is rebirth, renewal, a fresh start.

“And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” -Anais Nin

Not all flowers (or people) bloom at once.
Nor should they.

What’s your favorite Springtime cue to bloom?

Mine is spotting little plants fighting their way up amid the organic detritus. And being able to go without shoes without my toes going numb. 😬

If you still need some gentle care or coaxing out of your winter hibernation, book a massage for yourself. I require masks for services, and am low-exposure and do house calls, so if you feel safer at home, let me come to you.

I also offer gift certificates for your friends and loved ones!

And, as always: Mask up, wash your hands, take your vitamins, and do your part to keep our communities healthy.
Stay safe, friends.

Exciting news, everyone!

Full moon tonight/tomorrow.

Full moons are a powerful time of expressing gratitude, and gracefully acknowledging the beauty of life itself and all you have brought into being. It’s a good time to refect on what aligns with your truth, and to manifest opportunities.

February’s full moon in particular is known as a Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, Little Famine Moon, and Bone Moon. All of these are in reference to the particular hardships people face at this point in the winter; even in good years, things start to get scarce, and people are ready for spring and all of the renewed life that comes with it.

This seems even more true as we approach the one-year mark of a pandemic and quarantine.

It seems fitting then, to announce some of my own breakthroughs and changes.

It has been a rough year, for sure.
Covid has caused a lot of obstacles for everyone, but small business owners have been hit particularly hard. Finding a safe balance while juggling finances has been hard, and for a little while it looked like I might have to quit as a massage therapist altogether.

However, the 11th hour is apparently where I shine, and while things have worked out, it does mean I am relocating one neighborhood over. Im sad to be leaving The Barnum Factory, but I am grateful for the opportunities they’ve given me, and the amazing leadership they continue to model for community-oriented partnerships.

They have been a wonderful home for the past few years, and I cannot say enough good things about them or their stewardship.

Athough Im sad to be moving, I’m glad for the opportunity to continue honing my professional skills as we move forward together.
