Ahhhhh Happy Mail ♥️

I got home from work yesterday & teared up seeing that blue envelope- I’m so Thankful for all things Jenny Lawson - from the first time reading let’s pretend this never happened (yes I’ve read it multiple times) to now - she’s just such a real funny human & if you haven’t read her books you really probably should just sayin’-
Getting sent a package from her publishing team though?!! That’s next level wow for me ♥️

Then as if that wasn’t amazing enough I got a care package from Kallie Street 🖤 - a fellow embassador for Natalie the Caffeinated Mama💖🧋 with a book I’ve been wanting to read & an awesome “the reader” tarot book bag! Thank you thank you ♥️♥️♥️

March 31st always feels… complicated.

Four years ago today we said goodbye to my mom, Pati. She was loved deeply and will be missed by so many. She spent most of her life in Clackamas County, proudly working as a school bus driver, and living a life full of gardening, epic camping adventures, and creative bursts of ceramics, crochet, and sewing. If you ever saw a particularly cool rock or a random blue bottle- she probably would have picked it up and given it a place of honor

She gave us a love of music (Blondie, Heart, Fleetwood Mac on repeat), movement (Jane Fonda workouts we tried to keep up with), and a very strong example of dancing like absolutely no one was watching

She was also human. Our relationship was complicatedto say the - it was messy, and something I’m still working through. And I think both of these things get to be true at the same time:

She did the best she could with what she had
and my sisters and I still deserved better♥️

Both are true. Both are part of the story.

I’m grateful she’s no longer in pain from MS. I’m grateful she was surrounded by love when she passed. And I’m still figuring out what grief looks like when it isn’t simple or soft around the edges.

Today is a mix of love, sadness, relief, and a little bit of “what do I even do with all of this?”

But I do know this
You were loved. You are missed. ♥️

Easily one of the best things I’ve ever done in life & am so incredibly grateful for is this nannyshare ♥️

At the time I interviewed for 5 jobs - 2 preschool teacher positions, 1 bend-alpine school position & 2 nanny jobs - great problem to have was that I got offered all of them. I’m so so happy that I listened to my gut - it was not the highest paying, not the most hours, but I just had a feeling. Now it’s so many years & so many families later (I think… 14 or 15 families 🙃😳🤪) I really do know how incredibly lucky I am!

All that being said - the main constant in my job is change- kids just keep growing up & 2 of my big littles are headed off to preschool in June. So… if you or a friend or coworker or whoever would like a coveted spot in the best group of families & kiddos around please send me a message 😊

Stacked up some green reads for St. Patrick’s Day 🍀📚

In honor of Saint Patrick (and, more importantly, the tiny chaotic energy of ✨leprechauns✨), I’ve assembled this very official stack of magically green books…

Rumor has it if you build the perfect stack inspired by Ireland, a leprechaun appears, judges your taste, and either grants you luck… or knocks over your TBR for fun 🍀

So far: no gold, no luck, but excellent vibes and a slightly unstable pile of books 💚💚💚

My weird Ass is here for the folklore, the aesthetic, and the delusion that one of these books might lead me to a hidden treasure at the end of a rainbow 🌈
