Raise your hand if your brain doesn’t know how to turn off 🙋🏾‍♀️

Pregnancy brain. Postpartum exhaustion. The mental load of caring for families all day.

I get it. And I found something that actually helps.

𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐓𝐚𝐩 is a headset/app (no you don’t have to have the headset to use it) that uses light and sound to guide your nervous system into rest mode. No effort required, just 20 minutes of letting your brain do its thing, and gaining 4 hours of sleep in exchange.

Whether you’re growing a baby, raising one, or supporting those who are… this tool is a game changer.

Happy Love Day 🤎

Let me say this clear.
A regulated parent. makes for a regulated baby/child.

Your nervous system sets the tone in the room. When you soften, they soften. When you feel safe, they settle. That is not fluff. That is biology.

And if getting calm feels hard right now, you do not have to muscle through it. BrainTap works straight from your phone. Put on the headset, your AirPods, or your noise canceling headphones, press play, and let your body reset while you hold your baby.

This is love too. Choosing your peace so your baby can feel it.

Breastfeeding does not just happen. It responds to preparation, stimulation, and support from day one.

If you wait until baby is here to learn, you are already playing catch up. The first hours matter. Your plan matters. Who is guiding you matters.

Pumping is not the problem. The plan is.
Timing. Fl**ge fit. Frequency. Consistency. That is what protects supply.

And when your baby wants to nurse all day, that does not automatically mean low milk. That is often your baby placing an order at The Breastraunt. Frequent feeds help your body understand demand.

Preparation builds confidence.
Strategy protects supply.
Support sustains the journey.

Oh so you want to talk intimacy aka s*x while breastfeeding 👀
Let us get into it.

Here are a few things to know 👇🏾

🗣️ Talk to your partner before intimacy
Name what is off limits so there is clarity, safety, and respect on both sides.

💦 Milk ejection reflex can be tied to arousal
If leaking feels distracting, wearing a bra during intimacy can help you stay present.

🧴 Breastfeeding lowers estrogen and progesterone
That can lead to vaginal dryness and a lubricant can be a game changer. Support is allowed.

😌 And if you are not ready or have no desire right now
That is okay too. Truly. At least over here it is.

A Black midwife and an IBCLC together are something to be reckoned with.

We support all families. And we also honor this truth. Shared history matters. Presence matters. Language matters. Advocacy matters. When care is grounded in cultural understanding, families feel seen, heard, and protected. Trust is built differently when your provider understands the weight you carry and the legacy you come from.

Black midwives and lactation professionals have always been here. Holding birth. Protecting breastfeeding. Advocating loudly and lovingly when systems fall short.

Black women in the United States are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than white women. That reality is not because of biology. It is because of bias, lack of listening, and lack of protection. Community based Black midwives and IBCLCs are part of the solution.

“When Black women are cared for by Black providers, outcomes improve. Trust saves lives.”

We are not just honoring Black history this month.
We are living it.
We are practicing it.
We are protecting families in real time.

This is legacy work.
This is community care.
This is Black history in motion.

Black History Month reminds us that breastfeeding has always lived in our community.

Before policies, before credentials, before systems, Black women carried the knowledge.

Dr. Kimmarie Bugg of became the first Black IBCLC in 1987, opening doors in a profession in our lactation profession. Her work and the work of so many after her shifted lactation care toward advocacy, access, and culturally aligned support.

Breastfeeding is not just personal. It is historical. It is political. It is a Black maternal health issue.

We honor the organizations doing the work alongside families every day like , , , , , , , and

This month and every month, we protect Black maternal health, normalize breastfeeding, and continue legacy work that heals our community through breastfeeding.
