I’ve been wanting to do this training since I heard about it 2 years ago because of my heart for the Fire Service. But WOW! It was incredible and quite possibly the best, hands on training I’ve had in my entire, nearly 20 years as a clinician.

Thank you to all the incredible men and women who shared their experiences and time to train us and walk a us through the evolutions that are just a small taste of what they do daily in their careers, putting their lives on the line to save ours. The impact of the trauma they experience to help us on our worst days, can not be dismissed! It was an honor to be a part of the training and I can’t wait to do my ride alongs and spread the knowledge of the great organizations that provide mental health support to these incredible men and women!

P.S. 1. Everything Firefighters do is about 100X harder than it looks!
2. I got to break a car door window, use the Jaws of life, break open a metal door with a Hallagan & Axe, Nozzle and Bump a hose, crawl through a smokey dark house & (try) to save a dummy, my favorite was repelling out a 3rd story window (anxiety high)!
3. I met some great clinicians & firefighters!
