Destin Beach Safety

Destin Beach Safety Destin Beach Safety is a specialized rescue service within the Destin Fire Control District.

On Sunday June 8, 2003, eight people drowned on Panhandle Beaches and hundreds were rescued. After that horrific day, the Destin Fire Control District created it’s Beach Safety Division. Since 2004, Destin Beach Safety has been patrolling the waters of Destin, ensuring the safety of it’s visitors. The addition of Destin Beach Safety has made drownings on the beach drop dramatically, almost to zero. Starting out with only six ATV’s patrolling and roughly a dozen employees, the patrol has grown dramatically. As of 2013, Destin Beach Safety has expanded to include:
-Over 40 employees
-8 Rescue Rhino’s
-2 Lifeguard Rescue Crafts
-4 Lifeguard Chairs
-2 Beach Wheel Chairs
Destin Beach Safety has also been issued an Advanced Lifesaving Certification from the United States Lifesaving Association. Every employee is USLA certified and undergoes extensive training in First Aid, CPR, and AED. It is our mission at Destin Beach Safety to not only make the beaches of Destin the most beautiful in the world, but also make them the safest. FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES CONTACT:
