❄️We’re closing the shop on Mondays through the winter❄️
Today marked our first Monday doing so — which didn’t mean I had the day off, but it did mean I had some uninterrupted time to fill every mold in the soaproom 🧼
Making the choice to close Mondays wasn’t an easy one. The people pleaser in me wants to make sure everyone can get their refills as easily as possible 💫 But this year, things are looking and feeling a little different.
Five years ago when I started this soap company from the basement of our home, I was in some of the best health of my life 💪🏼 But as the years of entrepreneurship have added up, I’ve slowly watched both my mental and physical health decline 😢
So this spring I made the choice to make my health a top priority again — and I’m feeling more myself every day 😁 But as the seasons shift and I feel the holidays creeping in (along with that all-too-familiar fight-or-flight feeling), I knew it was time to pause and reevaluate.
So this winter, Mondays are for quiet. They’re for uninterrupted headspace, time to try new things and most importantly for putting myself first. Reflecting and rebuilding balance — so I can show up fully the other days of the week✨
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support. Every bar of soap, every refill, every kind word — it all means more than you know 🤍

It was a gorgeous fall day 🍁 The perfect day to spend in the woods for a Trick-or-Trails event put on by our daughter’s school! 👻
We handed out treats 🍬 and offered trail walkers the option of reaching in to feel monster guts (aka pumpkin guts) It was so much fun watching the little faces as they reached in 😁 and it’s always so heartwarming to connect with all of you!✨
REMINDER‼️ Beginning this week we’re closed on Monday. Stay tuned to the Stories though, as I’ll be spending each uninterrupted Monday in the soaproom pouring soap until it’s coming out my ears 🤪 Tis the season! 🎄

These sweet souls from the Detroit Lakes High School marketing class stopped in last week to record a commercial about shopping local 🛍️ and today they showed up with a gift for me (who did absolutely nothing!) 🎃
I’m so grateful for these ladies, along with the time and effort they put into relaying to their peers the importance of shopping right here in their community💥

I’m Heidi; owner and maker at Nature’s Embrace Soap Company, wife, mother, yogi and lover of all things nature. I live in Detroit Lakes, MN with my husband and three children.
My passion for creating bar soap started over a decade ago (2008) after my Mom and I ordered supplies to make candles. After finishing the candlemaking, I had leftover oils and wondered what else I could do with them. A quick online search landed me in cold-process soap and I was immediately interested. After some brief research, I poured my first batch and to my surprise it turned out! AND I was hooked! Before I knew it, I had more soap than we had a need for and that’s when I started Nature’s Embrace.
Selling both retail and wholesale until 2011 when I laid down my stick blender to focus on family, it wasn’t until 9 years later, in the first few weeks of the COVID-19 stay at home order, that life would slow down and I'd realize where my heart belonged; business ownership and soapmaking.
I’m so excited to once again offer cold-process bar soaps to YOU with the launch of our website in Summer 2020! The soaps to come will be nothing like you’ve seen from me before. Think premium quality ingredients derived from nature ONLY, minimal packaging and of course gorgeous visual appeal!
