Last Friday, we were honored to host Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for the announcement of the Head Start for America's Children Act!

This legislation will make a massive difference in the lives of so many of the families we serve. We know firsthand the importance of early childhood education, because when our children succeed, our future is bright. ✨

Thankfully, the families we serve can adjust their budget knowing that their children are taken care of when they are at our centers! It is because of YOU that we can provide diapers for all of the kids in MiSide EarlyYears!💕

A quarter of parents that have children in diapers have missed an average of 5 days of work in the past month because they didn't have enough diapers to give to their childcare center for their baby.

Luckily, families at MiSide don't have to worry about that because while their children are at MiSide EarlyYears, diapers are provided!

💜 Detroit Families: Rx Kids Is Here! 💜

Pregnant moms and families with new babies in Detroit may qualify for direct cash support during pregnancy and baby’s first year — with no income or employment requirements.

Eligible families can receive:
💵 $1,500 during pregnancy
💵 Up to $500/month for 6 months after baby is born

If you are a Detroit resident and more than 16 weeks pregnant — or caring for an infant born on or after January 1, 2026 — you may qualify.

“We understand that diapers are a necessity for families, but SNAP and WIC do not provide the funds for families to use those resources to purchase diapers,” said Rhonda Mallory-Burns, the director of early head start and head start. “With the price of diapers going up, this helps us to support the families.”

MiSide Community Impact Network is running their Cupid's Care Diaper Drive all month long. The goal is to collect 10,000 diapers for local families.

➕The cost of diapers really adds up!➕

In just a month, a newborn could use 360 diapers and a toddler could use 240!😳 That sure does add up quick!

While parents are at work, their children spend about 25% of the month in our care through our MiSide EarlyYears programs. That means we provide about 90 diapers to a newborn and about 60 to a toddler in just one month.

With hundreds of kids in our classes, we can't do this alone! Can you help provide those diapers to the families in need?💕
