𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀: I am a full spectrum doula and childbirth educator. I became a doula in 2020 after having two high-risk pregnancies & being encouraged by my midwife to become an advocate for other moms. My background is in observational pregnancy research, addressing the risk factors for preterm birth in Black women.

My favorite modern convenience is cordless devices! Y'all remember when everything was attached to cords? Whew. What a time!

✨How do you ease fear or concerns in clients?
I ease fear or concerns from clients with the truth. I remind them that their bodies were meant to do this amazing thing called birth and they have everything inside them that they need to get through it.

This shouldn't even have to be stated. Outraged is an understatement right now. If you find yourself having an emotional reaction today, you are not alone. It's a scary world to have BASIC rights encroached upon. Furthermore, men should never be in charge of a woman's body. Ya'll ready to picket??

MICHIGAN!! It was just announced that the Michigan Dept of Health & Human Services has proposed policy change to include doulas under Medicaid coverage.

Policy Highlights:
📝Coverage for 6 prenatal & postpartum visits @ $75
📝Coverage for attending labor and delivery @ $350
📝Potential for a statewide doula registry, ongoing educational opportunities
📝Training for peer recovery doulas serving those with substance use disorders

Embrace: A Motherhood Collective

We are a priority. Our birth stories matter and should be shared.

Embrace focuses on the BIPOC maternal community, helping you understand your postpartum journey and the importance of recovery for overall mental and physical health. Recovery is not only physical but mental as well. Being in your postpartum journey is a new step into motherhood, whether with your 1st baby or after multiple, each birth is different and provides a different postpartum experience.

We are happy to meet and connect with you. We are the founders of Embrace: A Motherhood Collective.

We are black women, mothers, spouses, caretakers, who believe in the power of sisterhood, and understand the challenges of the postpartum journey. We started this collective to support BIPOC mothers during their postpartum journey. We understand being postpartum is LONGER than 3 months. Being a postpartum mother comes with self discovery, finding new ways to self love, and adjusting to all the complexities that come with motherhood. We hope our events help you feel empowered and charged to make yourself a priority.
