I've always had a curiosity with how things move in nature. The way that our bodies can provide so much strength and structure, yet still allow for all the intricate and amazing movements that make up life. That drive to know more is what sent me to Detroit to gain an education in massage therapy.
While attending massage school I took a job at a local dog daycare to earn tuition. That is when my two big passions collided. Massage offered me an opportunity to pay back some of the comfort that the dogs in my life had provided with such one-sided enthusiasm. They became my training partners, always more than happy to help me practice a massage technique.
Once I received my massage license, I decided to pursue more training in canine massage. I traveled to Chicago and completed Canis Body Works’ class on relationship building and canine massage fundamentals. They taught me how to translate my massage skills and routines to a canine client.
After receiving my certificate in canine massage I began employment as a dog trainer with Barky Mark's Dog Training. My work with Barky Mark's has helped me to better understand The motivations behind a dog's actions and how to communicate with them more effectively. Armed with this knowledge I hope to return some small measure of the joy and comfort that our pets provide to us every day.
I was born in San Diego, but my family, Mom Dad and my three siblings, moved to Michigan before I can remember.I grew up outside of Muskegon with a stretch of woods just beyond my backyard. That’s probably a big reason why I love being outdoors, either down by the beach flying a kite, at the park catching a birds eye view with my drone, on a hike through wood and creek or in a kayak floating the day away. If I'm not outside, you’ll probably find me curled up with a fantasy novel, or stuck in my headphones, lost in guitar practice.
