We’re witnessing real-time horrors— in Minnesota and here in Detroit. Families torn apart. People taken from the street. Children left alone because their parents were detained by ICE.
Our labor is power. Join me and others across the country in striking to demand an end to this violence. No school. No work. No shopping. No business as usual.
Detroit folks: there’s an action at Darou Salam African Market at 2pm (23841 W. 7 Mile). .lightly.mi is also hosting a Know Your Rights & community advocacy workshop with Oakland Cafe at 7pm. In-person seats are limited, but I’m hosting the virtual option (up to 500 people). Link is on the Walking Lightly website.
See you in the streets.
* It’s important to name this: striking and withholding labor isn’t accessible to everyone. Being able to do so is a privilege.
