2016! I can’t believe this was 10 years, ago time flies when you’re living. 2016 was the year things began to integrate and come together after 2 years of major changes (2016 was a 9 year, like 2025).

What’s ironic is the energy I had in 2016 is the same that I have as I’m moving into 2026. The past has faded away, I’m renewed, confident, and more sure of myself than I’ve been in a while.

I love this trend, it’s so easy to forget how you push yourself to grow, how you grieve and celebrate life simultaneously, the prayers do manifested, that you will rebuild life after it crumbs away and that everything works out in the end. 😊

Let’s talk about the new calendar year vs the natural cycle that begins on the spring equinox. Cause folks are going crazy about this. I’m like, was this info unleashed for the masses last week 😂

The Gregorian calander is rooted in the material world, the patriarchy, and is the standard. Yes it’s real and should be utilized for material, real world practices. Use it to keep track of time just like how you use a clock. Not to do so it like saying, I don’t honor that it’s 1pm or there are 24hrs in a day because time isn’t linear. It’s true but come’on now… you know you’re using the clock and calander.

The natural world allows us to align with natural and spiritual rhythms. This is an intuitive alignmen. Your body and spirit already guides you based on energies of days, moon phases, equinoxes and seasons.

Humans have tapped into these energies for eons and use them for daily practices and timing like planting/farming, traveling, medicine making, reproductive activities, and giving prayers and offerings.

These energies also guide you internally for rest, activity, detoxing, nourishing, and reflection.

The goal is balance…use spirituality and mysticism in practical ways.

2025 was a universal 9 year, going into the year I expected it to be a rough transitional year but at the same time, I had been trough some pretty rough years so I didn’t know what else I could possibly lose.

It took a good 10 months but I finally realized, I needed to let go the survival mindset I had been in during those previous years. The 9 year gently dissolved the hardness and reminded me that I deserved softness, nurturing, and peace. I accepted what the universe offered and my life changed.

2025 was the year softness and ease returned to me.

I give thanks to God for the blessings, my ancestors for their protection and support, Esu for reminding me that life is a choice and it can be tricky, sad, and fun all at the same damn time, Ogun for his protection and spiritual warfare, Oya for purification, and Oshun for all the sweetness and joy (you see it on my face).

Now time to get to it in 2026 🥂
