Today is National Inspire Your Heart with Art Day and we want to sher a support opportunity from our Supportive AOncology Services team:

Art and music therapy are proven to support healing by engaging both the mind and body. Unlike exercise, which focuses only on the body, or meditation, which focuses only on the mind, creating art or music combines both—providing powerful health benefits backed by research.

Working with a licensed art or music therapist can offer many of the same benefits as traditional talk therapy. In cancer care, these therapies are designed to help reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

Last weekend, Henry Ford Neurosurgery was proud to represent Henry Ford Health + MSU at the Big Ten Neurosurgery Conference!

It was an outstanding opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the Big Ten, share innovative research, discuss complex cases, and collaborate on advancing the future of neurosurgical care. From engaging presentations to thoughtful discussions, the energy and commitment to education, research, and patient care were truly inspiring.

Thank you to all the faculty, residents, speakers, and attendees who helped make this conference such a success. We’re grateful for the collaboration and look forward to building on these important conversations in the years ahead.

Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring message of dignity, service, and respect for one another. His words remind us of the importance of compassion, listening, and shared humanity. May we each find small ways to reflect these values in our communities today and throughout the year.
