So many moms have to pump for various reasons. However, they are given advice that leaves them drained, dreading, and hating the pump. Those strategies often lead to reduced milk supply. Here are some tips on how to make pumping more manageable and better able to protect milk supply.

How we label and communicate to our pregnant moms matters! The psychological warfare that is continued to be hurled at a mom that she is ‘advanced maternal age’ only serves to create mistrust for her body. And for what benefit? She is already pregnant. She is already growing a baby. She is already going to give birth. Therefore, what does the constant reminder of this label serve?! I am putting it into the category of ‘a stress inducer for no apparent gain’. It would be more helpful for medical professionals to know it in the back of their minds (as they would any other patient detail) and refrain from centering all discussions around it.

One minute they don’t want you going in another room. The next, they leave the minute you walk in. The bewilderment of having teens and preteens is that you never know what you’re going to get. I guess the skill is learning not to take it personally and to allow for the ebbs and flows of growing up. Of vacillating between dependence and independence. I’m really trying to learn to ‘let it ride.’ They always re-engage. We all need time and space. The hard part is that we are still doing all the ‘work.’ The cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
That’s why we have each other. Other parents and friends who can commiserate. The struggle is real. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thank you for being a part of our shared community.
I am so grateful. 🙏🏻❤️

When we have sick kids, the world pauses. It’s like being in a time warp. Lots of child movies and shows, cold cloths, vitamin C gummies, fuzzy socks, and sips of apple juice and water. Everything slows down. The cleaning and tasks have to wait. It’s hard to release ourselves from these duties and responsibilities, but we have to let ourselves off the hook. Our kids need us for these few days and we aren’t superheroes. We have to let some things go. And sometimes, eat some cookies from the oil change place! Who knew that would be a saving grace. 🤷🏻‍♀️
We are in this together!
I’m glad we are not alone.

Why does it seem there is all out war on moms and babies?! Join me as I make posts on the sabotage I see on the well being of new moms and babies. Dad’s too! We need to band together and reject the pressure to succumb to unnecessary stress. We can take back the enjoyment of this beautiful phase of life and block our ears (and wallets) to the hijacking of our, our baby’s, and our families peace.

Many moms who have to pump end up chasing their supply. This is often because they have been given the WRONG advice. They are told to space out pumping, which does NOT mimic how a newborn baby feeds. Watch this video to find out more!

Busting through the myth that moms have to stop breastfeeding when their baby turn 12 months old!
This is just another falsehood among so many that moms are told. It is yet another false narrative that interferes with a mom trusting her own gut instinct and being pressured wrongly by outside forces.
