We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Kalpana Kotagal, who was sworn in today as our newest EEOC Commissioner!
Kotagal joins the agency from the law firm Cohen Milstein, where she worked on civil rights cases related to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage and hour issues, and the non-discrimination provisions of the Affordable Care Act.
“We are excited to welcome Kalpana to the Commission,” said EEOC Chair Charlotte A. Burrows. “She has dedicated her career to advancing civil rights both in the courtroom and by working collaboratively with employers. Her creative approaches to ensuring equal opportunity, her legal expertise, and her commitment to workers will greatly benefit the Commission.”
