Allow us to introduce our PATIENT SPOTLIGHT Dr. Todd.

Dr. Todd recently celebrated his one year anniversary of suffering a massive stroke that left him left side paralysis. His wife knew there was only one place for him to go and that was The Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM). Dr. Todd arrived at RIM in the beginning of December 2018. He spent six weeks in inpatient rehab just learning to sit back up unassisted, stand, and then beginning taking a few total assisted steps. He arrived for outpatient therapy in March 2019. He immediately identified as a great candidate for our Neuro Continuumn Program and he began participating in 2.5 hours of PT/OT therapy twice a week. In our Neuro Continuum Program, Dr. Todd was introduced to our Ekso robotic skeleton for advanced gait training. Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) via our cycle and stepping devices. New Gait, NMES, and now body weight support treadmill training. Here at RIM we are altering our center for spinal cord program into more of a complete Neuro continuum program; to bring you advanced equipment and expertise to better serve our community. If you have suffered a life changing event like a stroke, brain injury, or amputation and are looking for a more advanced program consisting of 2-3 days a week. Look no further then our Neuro Continuum Program at RIM. Please call 313-745-9932 to see if your insurance benefits apply and start today.
