As we celebrate the hope and resurrection of Christ, Cease Fire Detroit is lifting up families who’ve lost loved ones to gun violence. Young people trying to choose a different path. Churches, block clubs, and community leaders putting in the work every single day.

Let’s show what Detroit is really about!
Love, unity, & having each other’s backs.

Check on a neighbor. Encourage a young person. Speak life, not violence.
Let’s make sure every Easter gathering, every egg hunt, every family dinner in Detroit is safe and full of joy. 💛

Happy Easter, Detroit.
From all of us at Cease Fire Detroit.

To everyone who saw the videos of downtown yesterday: Don’t let the noise distract you from the truth.

I was out there with Ceasefire and our CVI partners. From the sidewalk, it looked like chaos. Thousands of kids, loud energy, running everywhere. But when you’re standing in the middle of it, you see the real story: it was only about 40 kids actually causing trouble.

Here is what really matters:
• No one was shot.
• No one was seriously hurt.
• No major property was destroyed.

That didn’t happen by accident. That’s the result of presence, intervention, and real relationships. A lot of people see our youth and get afraid. I’m telling you: don't be. Most of these kids aren’t out there to do wrong; they are out there trying to be seen. Instead of fearing them, love on them. Talk to them. Show them they actually matter to this city.

Safety isn't just about patrols, it's about connection. ✊🏾

⚠️ Attention Detroit Parents & Guardians ⚠️

Today, there are talks of a “Downtown Takeover” involving our youth. Please be mindful of your children’s whereabouts and who they are with. Remember, the City of Detroit still enforces a youth curfew.

We strongly encourage parents to accompany your children if they plan to be downtown. Your presence can help prevent situations from escalating and avoid unnecessary confusion or conflict.

Let’s stay proactive, stay connected, and keep our young people safe.

As the weather breaks and Spring Break is in full effect, we’re already seeing signs of what the summer could bring. More youth are outside, more time on their hands, and more opportunities for situations to escalate.

At Ceasefire Detroit, we are not waiting for violence to happen, & are moving to prevent it.

Our teams are actively increasing our presence in downtown and high-traffic areas this week, engaging with our community, building relationships, and stepping in before conflicts turn into consequences.

This is about protecting our youth, supporting our neighborhoods, and showing up when it matters most.

We are committed. We are present. And we are working every day to keep our city safe.

If you see us out, tap in! Support in continuing to build a better Detroit.

This is what community response looks like.

After a one year old child was shot on Christmas Eve, Ceasefire stepped in immediately to support the family during an unimaginable moment. This video captures our emergency response shopping for the family and showing up with love action and care.

This violence has to stop. Our children deserve safety peace and protection. We will continue to stand in the gap serve families and push for change in our communities.

This is bigger than a moment. This is about accountability healing and saving lives.

A Message from Coach G Ward at Today’s Funeral for a 15-Year-Old.

Today, we gathered to mourn the loss of a bright young life taken too soon. We are losing far too many of our youth to a culture of violence that must be addressed. It’s time for all of us to take accountability for the safety and future of our community. I urge everyone, especially the men in our community, to step up and be leaders. We must work together to create a safer environment for our young people. Let’s commit to breaking this cycle of violence.
