Happy Black History Month!
We at AAoM want to celebrate Black History Month by highlighting black autistic figures!

Cat Burns is a British singer, songwriter, and celebrity ambassador for the National Autistic Society. Her rise in the British pop scene is meteoric: she was crowned as Britain’s best-selling female artist in 2022, and her song “go” charted at #2 on the Official Singles Chart. On top of that, she was a guest star in BBC's The Celebrity Traitors, a reality TV competition where she made it to the finals.

Cat received her ADHD diagnosis in 2021 at 21 years old, and her autism diagnosis in 2023 at 23 years old. In an interview with BBC, she stated that the dual diagnoses “made sense” and recontextualized her life, shining a light on the underdiagnosis of women, particularly black women.

Michigan is deciding how to***co information and support are shared with adults with disabilities. Your input can help shape what those resources look like.

The State of Michigan and MI-DDI are inviting adults with disabilities to take a short online survey. The goal is to understand what information is available now, what is helpful, and what could be easier to find or understand.

This survey is open to Michigan residents age 18 and older with any disability. You are welcome to participate whether you use to***co or not.

Your feedback helps make resources more accessible and more useful for people across the state.

Survey link in the comments.
