Curious what the medical screening process looks like for surrogacy? Here’s a quick overview:

Before moving forward, clinics complete a thorough screening to help ensure a surrogate is healthy and pregnancy is safe. This often includes:
✨ Medical history + pregnancy history review
✨ OB/GYN evaluation
✨ Ultrasound/uterine check
✨ Bloodwork + STI testing
✨ Drug/nicotine screening

These steps aren’t meant to “find something wrong” they’re a standard part of fertility care to support the best possible outcome for everyone involved.

If you’re considering becoming a surrogate, we’re here to guide you through every step of the process with clarity, ethical considerations, and unwavering support. 💛

A 2nd-time surrogate is someone who’s been through the appointments, milestones, and emotions and still says, “I’ll do it again.” 🫶🏻
That’s experience + heart in the purest form.✨

We’re honored to support you through every step (again). 😊

This week has been full of medical screenings and honestly, it’s one of the most important steps in the surrogacy journey. 🤍

Medical screening is where we make sure a surrogate’s body is truly ready for pregnancy and that everything is set up for the safest, healthiest experience possible. It usually includes things like labs and bloodwork, a full review of medical history, a uterine evaluation (often an ultrasound), and sometimes additional testing depending on the clinic.

It can feel like a lot of appointments in a short amount of time, but every test has a purpose: protecting the surrogate, supporting the intended parents, and helping the clinic feel confident moving forward.

Happy Birthday to our boss lady!!! The heart, hustle, and calm-in-the-chaos behind Ivy Surrogacy 🎉🤍

Your leadership is the kind that changes lives; not just for intended parents dreaming of a family, but for the surrogates who choose to carry hope for someone else. You’ve built something that’s bigger than an agency… it’s a community. A place where people are treated with compassion, respect, and real care and that starts with you. 🫶🏻

Today we celebrate YOU! Your passion, your brilliance, and the way you show up every single day with strength and grace.

Wishing you a year filled with answered prayers, big wins, peace in the busy, and so much joy (because you deserve it all). 🥂✨
Happy Birthday Chris! 👑🤍🎂

Embryo Transfer Day ✨

One of the biggest milestones in an IVF journey, and also one of the calmest appointments people imagine as “the big moment.” Here’s what it’s actually like + what happens during and after:

⭐️During the embryo transfer:
    •    It’s usually a short procedure (often around 10-15 minutes) and typically doesn’t require anesthesia.
    •    Most clinics use an ultrasound to guide placement (you may see the screen while they work).
    •    A thin catheter is gently passed through the cervix into the uterus, and the embryo is released into the uterine cavity.
    •    Many people describe it as pressure or mild cramping, however, everyone’s body is different.
    •    The embryologist confirms the embryo is transferred, and the team double-checks the catheter to ensure everything went as planned.

⭐️After the transfer
    •    You may rest at the clinic briefly, then you’re usually cleared to go home.
    •    It’s common to feel: light cramping and bloating after the procedure.
    •    The embryo doesn’t “fall out”; the uterus is a muscular organ, and the embryo is microscopic. Normal walking, gentle movement, and using the bathroom won’t undo the transfer.

What happens next
    •    Then comes the hardest part: the two-week wait (or however long your clinic schedules the beta).
    •    Most clinics recommend staying consistent with meds (like progesterone) and following their activity guidance. Some suggest avoiding heavy lifting, high-intensity workouts, hot tubs/saunas, and anything your doctor flags.
