🎆 Every Fourth of July, I think about courage.Not just the courage of the founders who signed their names to a declaration that could have gotten them hanged. But the quiet courage of everyday Americans who've kept the flame of liberty burning bright through dark times.The courage of immigrants who left everything behind for a chance at something better. The courage of soldiers who've defended our freedoms on foreign soil. The courage of teachers, nurses, firefighters, and volunteers who strengthen our communities every single day.The courage of neighbors who disagree politically but still help each other when storms hit. The courage of people who vote, who speak up, who show up – even when it's hard.Today, as we celebrate with family and friends, I'm reminded that being American isn't about where you were born or how long your family has been here. It's about believing in the promise that we can always do better, be better, and build something worthy of the sacrifices made for us.The Fourth of July isn't just our birthday – it's our reminder that freedom isn't free, democracy isn't automatic, and the American dream is something we create together, one act of courage at a time.Grateful to be part of this beautiful, messy, hopeful experiment we call America. 🇺🇸

Today we honor the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it's a solemn day of remembrance for those who gave everything so we might live in freedom.

Behind every flag-draped coffin was a person with dreams, hopes, and loved ones waiting for their return. They were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, friends and neighbors who answered the call to serve something greater than themselves.

From Normandy to Afghanistan, brave Americans have laid down their lives to protect the ideals we hold dear. Today, we remember not just their sacrifice, but the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

As we gather this Memorial Day, let us take a moment of silence to honor those who cannot be with us. Let us live our lives in a way that honors their memory—with gratitude, purpose, and commitment to the values they died defending.

They are not forgotten. They will never be forgotten.

Joan Crawford and her adopted daughter, Christina. Christina, as everyone knows, did not get along with Joan and after being left out of her will, she wrote a vicious "tell all" biography that forever tarnished Joan's image. She also inspired the children of other stars to write similar bios. From the bio: Christina, after being left out of her mother's will upon her death, went on to right the most famous "tell all" bio in history about Joan, called Mommie Dearest. Both the book and movie have gone on to achieve cult status for their portrayal of Joan as a psychotic, cruel woman who suffered from the worse case of OCD on record. Many in the industry rushed to defend Joan from these heartless allegations, to no avail. To this day, the image most of the current generation has of Joan, was set in cement with the publication of Mommie Dearest. Bette Davis, however, supported Christina. Shock! Your cutting remarks disguised as "helpful criticism" and your talent for making me feel guilty for having needs deserve recognition today. Today, as we observe the National Day of Prayer, I'm reminded of how prayer has served as a foundation for our nation since its beginning. In these moments of reflection, we lift up our beloved country in prayer, asking for wisdom and guidance for our nation's path forward.

We pray for President Trump and all our leaders, that they may be granted discernment and courage to make decisions that strengthen our republic. We pray for our state officials, that they may serve with integrity and vision for the common good.

We lift up our communities—our neighborhoods, workplaces, and gathering places—that they may be havens of respect and understanding. And we hold our families close in prayer, asking for protection, provision, and the bonds of love to grow ever stronger.

Prayer connects us across our differences, reminding us that regardless of our various faiths and backgrounds, we share common hopes for our families, communities, and country. It offers a moment to pause in our busy lives and reflect on what truly matters.

As we join together in prayer today, may we find strength in our shared values, healing for our divisions, and renewed commitment to compassion and understanding. Whatever your personal faith tradition, I hope this day brings you peace and perspective.
