This month, we are focusing on connection. 🫶🏻 Connecting with self, friends, loved ones, or community, is one of the many ways that we can support our mental health and well-being.

To encourage connection this week, we are giving away a coffee date! If you would like to enter, tag a friend or loved one you’d like to share a coffee with, and share this post.

We will randomly select a winner on Tuesday, November 18th. Good luck, and happy connecting!

🪻 The wheel of power and control is a helpful tool to illustrate how various strategies “work together” to maintain power and control within an abusive relationship.

🪻Nationwide, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men will experience sexual violence, physical violence, or stalking by a current or former intimate partner across their life time (nddsvc.org)

🪻If you or someone you know is currently living in a cycle of power and control, there are supports available to you in our community. Contact DVRCC @ 701-225-4506, or visit nddsvc.org for a comprehensive list of advocacy centers across the state

You can change your story 📖

As National Su***de Prevention week comes to a close, it’s important to remember that the conversation doesn’t stop here.

If you are struggling, or know someone who is, you are not alone. All it can take is one conversation to change your story, or to support someone you care about in knowing that they are not alone in theirs.

As behavioral health professionals, we strive everyday to do our part in breaking stigma and creating understanding around su***de and su***de prevention. Join us in continuing to be a part of the conversation.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month, a month dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and sharing resources about su***de, and su***de prevention.

This year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative on Su***de”. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has put together a toolkit to help in raising awareness and starting conversations, which can be found using the link below.

“No one has to face this alone. Help exists. Healing is possible. And all it can take is for one person to start a conversation.” (NAMI)

🍃 As August comes to a close and fall approaches, here’s a gentle reminder to practice self-care in times of transitions. 🍂

Self-care can mean checking in with yourself to see what you might need to fill your battery, which might look a little different for everyone! Whether that is rest, time with loved ones, some one on one time with Netflix, or therapy, self-care is one of the ways that we can prioritize being there for ourselves through all that life might throw at us.
