What Is Ashiatsu Massage?
In Japanese ashi means foot and atsu means pressure. Ashiatsu is a deep, therapeutic massage where the therapist uses their feet to deliver deep, consistent pressure instead of their hands. While that might sound intense, the lack of sharpness caused by elbows and thumbs can offer a more comfortable yet relaxing deep tissue massage. The therapist uses overhead bars for balance and control, allowing them to remain safe while gliding, compressing, and stretching your muscles.

Benefits of Ashiatsu

• Can reduce stress and promote relaxation
• Often feels more effective with less discomfort than traditional deep tissue

Who is a good candidate for an Ashiatsu Session?
Individuals looking for deep, therapeutic pressure to aid in relief of chronic pain, and muscle tightness but find traditional deep tissue massage too intense and painful. Athletes and people with large muscle mass can especially benefit from this style of massage.

Who should avoid Ashiatsu?
• Pregnant clients
• Individual with uncontrolled high blood pressure
• Osteoporosis or osteopenia
• Had surgery within the last 6 weeks
• Individuals with blood clots or taking blood thinners
• What to expect during an Ashiatsu session

What to expect during your first session
You will undress to your comfort level and lie on a massage table. Professional draping is not optional, and is used to ensure privacy. The therapist uses clean, sanitized, bare feet to begin the work on large muscle groups. Although the pressure is deep, it should never be painful so please communicate with your therapist where your level of comfort is.

Zen Spas is looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual to represent our facility as a front desk & team support member. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Answering incoming phone calls and following up with clients

Greeting guests when they arrive - must have excellent customer service skills

Managing front desk duties

Computer skills necessary

Marketing/social media experience/background is a plus

Keeping up with retail inventory

Light cleaning/tidying up

Managing intake forms

Light laundry

Opening/closing duties

Generally, helping with the flow of things. You are the heart of our spa!

The hours we are looking for are about 20 hours/week, afternoons Wednesday - Friday from 2:00-7:00 pm, and every other Saturday. The hours may vary slightly. We are a smaller and intimate spa with a great staff on board.

Entry pay starts at $13 per hour with room for growth.

Q: What is microchanneling?
A: Microchanneling is a noninvasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, microchanneling can help your body start this process without penetrating into living tissue.

Q: Does it hurt?
