The goal of our family planning clinics is to provide education and services to better equip you to make decisions that could affect you, your partner and your family for the rest of your life. Clients are charged for services according to their household income and family size. Private pay, insurance, Medicaid and donations are accepted. Inability to pay is never a barrier to you receiving the services you want or need. Almost everyone needs family planning services at some time in their lives to achieve or postpone pregnancy or to simply address personal health needs. Info about sliding fee:
All FP services are provided based on a patient’s reported income and household size. Patient income and household size are assessed to evaluate the availability of a discounted rate, called sliding-fee scale. It is requested that patients provide full payment at the time of the clinical visit; however, a bill can be mailed to the patient or the patient may request to set up a payment plan. Payment and/or donations are requested; however, it is not required to receive services. Inability to pay is not a barrier to receiving any or all services. Payments do allow our services to be provided to others in need. Medical assistance and insurance may be filed at the time of the clinical visit; then, patients would be billed for a remainder of the visit not covered by insurance. Family planning services include:
• Physical exams for men and women
• Birth control methods
• Breast, cervical and testicular cancer screening
• Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
• Preconception and life plan counseling
• Pregnancy testing
• Counseling and education
• Community education and outreach

Men and women are both equally at risk for getting an STI. Female s*xual partners often have no symptoms from infections, like chlamydia. Men who have s*x with men may be recommended to complete STI screening more frequently, depending on their risk. Talk to a healthcare provider about any health concerns you have or to find out about your STI risk.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month!
There are approximately 12,000 new cases of cervical cancer each year in the U.S. and unfortunately an estimated 4,000 women die annually from this disease. Cervical cancer is preventable with the HPV vaccine. January is a great time to talk to your provider about how HPV vaccines and regular screenings can help prevent cancer. Cancer screening includes the Pap test, and HPV test, or both. Call Dickinson Family Planning today to update your HPV vaccination status, ask about cervical cancer screening, and to schedule an appointment! Women without insurance are eligible for free screening through Women’s Way program; Dickinson Family Planning can help provide eligibility and enrollment information for those interested in learning more.
