January is Glaucoma Awareness Month
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness and the number of those with glaucoma is expected to double by 2050.
Getting a comprehensive, dilated eye exam is the only way to diagnosed glaucoma. While no one enjoys having their eyes dilated, the drops are neccessary to widen the pupil and allow the doctor to get a better view of the optic nerve, which is affected by glaucoma.
