Operation Safe and Sound gives us a chance to teach beach visitors when and where to swim safely. Sometimes those swimmers need help in the water, so we train with the lifeguard on how to safely help those that need our help.

Tonight John and Doris were fortunate to attend the Galveston West End Lions Club meeting. The Lions club has been instrumental in providing supplies to support our community during disasters. Thanks to Jerry for inviting John to speak and Cindy for representing her team.

Galveston County Emergency Alert Test Notice

Galveston County Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), will be testing the county’s emergency mass messaging system on Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

The test message will clearly indicate that it is a test, and no action is required by recipients.

This test ensures that the emergency alert system is functioning properly to keep our community safe in the event of a real emergency.
