Dr. Farrar will be at the office at 9am tomorrow and will likely leave early. We understand if patients are not able to safely get to their appointments, we will be rescheduling (potentially on a Friday!) so please don’t get out unless you feel comfortable with the risks of driving and walking in winter weather!!

We will be working on inboxes, phone calls, refill requests, etc.

We have been so blessed, we are booked out through January 2025 for new patients. We know it is hard to find providers in Dickson, as we have such a need for primary care! We will update our practices once we can handle additional new patients. For now, we are working to ensure we provide good care to our current patients.

Reasons why there are not enough doctors? Reasons why you can’t find a provider taking Medicare?

For starters, Medicare continues to cut our reimbursement year after year. “Medicare physician payment effectively declined 29% from 2001 to 2024, even before accounting for the newly proposed cut.” That newly proposed cut is another 2.8% for 2025, if not stopped by Congress.

In layman’s terms: doing the same (or more) work, but your “boss” cuts your salary each year. Yes, you get a reduced salary every year for treating patients 65 and up……..

Proposal would mean five straight years of cuts and sends clear signal: With older adults’ access to care on the line, Congress must fix Medicare now.
