Their vision is to help grow a healthier and kinder world and foster mental health and well-being in Montana communities and schools.
90 MINUTE PRESENTATION WILL COVER:
- learning what mindfulness is, what it's not, and the benefits of practicing the skills.
- Mindfulness is about being curious and open to trying something new that will help you grow and develop inner strength. All you need to bring with you is enough curiosity to try a few practices and see how they land for you in a safe, supportive environment.
- The basic practices are things we do everyday: breathe, sit, move, eat, talk and relate with one another.
We'll try out these practices by slowing down enough to be in touch with how vital our 5 senses are in relieving our frustration, anxiety and depression. The goal is to replace negative emotions and behavior with positive emotions and behaviors. Discovering inner joy, always available but most often buried in ourselves, each other and the world we live in is our true human potential that we can cultivate - every moment, every day.
- Mindful parenting practices teach ways to take care of yourself to be fully alive and present with your children.
If the parent is healthy, strong and happy, the child is healthy, strong and happy - and family life becomes the
warm heart-place where love's current flows, no matter what's happening "You can't control the waves but you can learn to surf" (Jon Kabat-Zinn)
