🍴 Food for Thought Thursday🍴

The habit that makes healthy eating so much easier:
Batch Cooking / Food Prepping

Every time I take a little time to prep food for the week, I feel so much better — not just physically from eating good food, but mentally from knowing I made a solid choice for myself.

Having healthy meals ready makes it so much easier to stay consistent and not rely on willpower when life gets busy.

Here’s what works for me (when I actually do it!):

1️⃣ I keep a “menu” of my favorite quality foods and their nutritional breakdown (prioritizing protein of course).
2️⃣ I set aside a little time each week to prep — admittedly, not my favorite thing to do, but always worth it.
3️⃣ I portion everything out so it’s grab-and-go, which makes hitting my calorie and protein goals effortless.

💡 Tip: I bought my own color-coded containers that no one dares to touch! 🙅‍♀️

It’s a small investment of time for a big return in energy, confidence, and consistency. 💜

Since Megan works full time during the day, she’s able to offer evening and weekend classes—perfect for those of you who need options outside of my usual schedule. She’s a fantastic addition to RSF and brings new opportunities for you to get strong, fit, and feel amazing. 💪

We each have our own unique coaching style, but we share the same passion: helping people right where they are—becoming stronger, more resilient, and more capable of living their best everyday life.

🍎 Food for Thought Thursday

We all know calories matter, but where those calories come from can make a big difference in how you feel day.

Wholesome, quality foods—like veggies, fruits, lean proteins, nuts, and grains—keep you full longer, boost energy and mental focus, and help your body fight sickness and disease.

Transitioning away from processed foods isn’t always easy (and yes, it takes a little extra prep). That's why I like to batch prep. But either way, it gets easier with practice.

Start small. Focus on one meal or one side dish at a time. Make one swap that feels doable.

The more often you choose real food, the better you’ll feel. You’ll notice it in your energy, your workouts, and even your mood.

Bonus: if fat loss is part of your goal, you’ll likely find you can eat more food for fewer calories—and see progress without feeling deprived. 💥

Over the years, I’ve been asked many times to offer evening classes—and while my own schedule doesn’t allow it, I’m thrilled to share that we now have some new peak-time options for those who work during the day!

Our new coach, Megan, is leading TRX suspension training classes—a fun, full-body workout that builds strength, stability, and core power using your own bodyweight.

This month, she’s focusing on the fundamentals, and it’s totally fine if you’ve missed the first few classes, we just want you to get started!

Starting in November, she’ll also be adding a Monday evening TRX class to the schedule.

I believe that physical fitness, along with good, real food are two aspects of self care that will lead to a healthier version of yourself, both physically and mentally. You will notice your daily chores getting easier as you become stronger, and your recreation becoming more enjoyable as you increase your endurance. Your mind will be rewarded with clarity and focus and you will feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment as you progress in your training. I continue to experience these things in my own life and look forward to working with you so that you do too.
