🎉 I have to share something spectacular with you!!!🎉

Now that I'm done crying all the happy tears I can put my thoughts together in a post....

For those who have spent the last year following along with my journey on my personal mare, Glory, and her OCD surgery rehab....
WE MADE IT!!!

To catch everyone up to speed, we found a large OCD on her left stifle and I opted to have surgery done even though she was 13 at the time, and we weren't sure how well she would heal up. The first 3 months I used my normal rehab equipment options, but we had pretty minimal change visible on the radiograph. I was really defeated and also having trouble controlling her pain.

🔸 Fact: It takes 40% change in healing (or degeneration) for it to be seen on an X-ray.

I had been talking with O3Vets about adding ozone therapy to my toolbox, so I decided this was my perfect opportunity for a case study of what it could do.

We had documentable improvement in the first 30 days of starting ozone therapy. I wanted a clear case study so I discontinued my normal equipment use and continued with just ozone.

After 90 days I started adding back in the PEMF since ozone sessions are frequently combined with PEMF in human practices.

I had intended to have another updated x-ray in May, but some personal things keep that from happening.
My work schedule didn't allow for me to ozone her but twice from August till now. So for a true case case study, I don't have enough information to prove how quickly the hole filled in, but I can prove that it did.

I was not expecting it to look that good today. Overjoyed doesn't even begin to cover my feelings.
We injected both stifles with Arthramid Equine to protect the joints and to get rid of the last bit of pain on the surgery stifle while addressing any compensatory pain on the opposite side. She flexed sound, but had a slight mechanical issue in movement and I feel it when I ride her.

I didn't think at her age a competition goal would ever actually be a reality again. But today we got a green light to put a goal on the vision board once again.

In 20 years of being in the rehab industry, I still get excited for results like it's my first case. There are so many ups and downs through the process and many days of hiding disappointed tears. I'm in awe of how well the body can heal if we can help create the right environment.

I'm thankful for the big team of veterinarians that have helped me through this process, my inner circle who have had my back and shared my tears... Most of all I'm thankful for answered prayers.

This mare has helped teach so many students, interns and staff members over the years and I'm glad she can continue to do so.

Reminder that equipment is only as useful as the person running it. It's only one part of the process.

Healing also requires: correct nutrition, correct hoof angles to take pressure off the joints, movement therapy, manual therapy and tons of dedication even when things look grim. There is no magic potion, but dedication and consistency mixed with knowledge definitely makes a difference.

For those asking my acupoint protocol, I used:
BL 11
BL 23
BL 40
BL 54
SI Area
GB 32
BL 60
Ki 3

BL 18 & 19 as needed

(These points were my most commonly used.)

To the health of all pets everywhere...

Health is not a given. In 2014 I became acutely aware that a crucial component to pet health was being overlooked. O3Vets was born.

I have since been aided by many of the best veterinarians on the planet. With God’s help and their guidance, we have helped thousands of pets move from diseased to healthy through the use of ozone therapy.

Will yours be next?
