Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center

Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center (Both locations are typically over an hour away.) This close location has helped reduce patient stress that surfaces as a result of frequent travel.

The benefit of the cancer center has been that patients who are diagnosed with cancer and are prescribed radiation treatment do not have to travel to Rockford or the Quad Cities for their treatment.

Do you ever wonder what we mean when we say we are going to make a mold of your upper half? Hereโ€™s a quick demonstration of one of the molds we use when treating something like a breast, chest, esophagus, etc. This device is called a Vac Lok. It starts off soft with little beads, and we suck the air out to harden it around the body. This helps us to keep the body immobilized in the same position every day for treatments. Stay tuned for more!

Thanks Mary! We hope to make this process as easy as we can for our patients.
