📌 Update for Day 67 (12/31/2025): A Special Reunion in Snellville, GA
Tomorrow we continue our journey through Georgia, heading from Scottdale to Snellville. This is a very special day—we will be reunited with Venerable Maha Dam Phommasan, the abbot of Wat Lao Buddha Khanti, who had serious injuries in our accident earlier in the journey and has had to stop walking with us physically since then. We are grateful for the continued support and warm welcome we receive along the way.

Itinerary for Day 67:
Lunch & Overnight Rest: Wat Lao Buddha Khanti, 4052 Zoar Church Rd SW, Snellville, GA 30039
Visiting Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Notice from Wat Lao Buddha Khanti for the visits

Updates on Parking. Here are the important information for tomorrow:

1. No public parking on temple grounds. Please find your own parking and be respectful of the private properties surrounding the temple. We do not have permission to park there.

2. Gwinnett Public Transportation will provide a shuttle from the Goodwill Parking Lot located at 3033 Centerville Hwy in Snellville starting at 12 and running every 15 minutes.

3. Sacred hour for the venerable monks: 11:00am-1pm. These are the protected hours to give our venerable monks of Walk for Peace time to eat and rest so they will be ready to greet you between 1-2.

4. 2-6, Time for monks to rest. The venerable monks can change their schedule as needed.
5. 6-8 Community gathering and blessings with venerable monks.

Special note: The schedule of events and time of arrival of venerable monks keeps changing due to various factors so please be understanding.

Please be patient and kind so that we all have a beautiful and peaceful experience.

✍️ The Loud and The Silence - We have been greeted in quiet woods where only birdsong broke the silence, and along roadsides where the hum of passing cars became part of the blessing. We have been welcomed by small gatherings of a few gentle souls, and by crowds of thousands whose voices rose like a wave—recently, magnificently, unforgettably.

Sometimes the greeting arrives in whispers. Sometimes it arrives in joyful noise that fills the air and shakes the ground beneath our feet.

And we have come to understand something beautiful: there is no single way to express love, no prescribed form for peace to take when it moves through a human heart seeking connection.

Each person carries their own language of welcome—some through silence and bowed heads, others through music and celebration, still others through excited voices and laughter that cannot be contained. The quiet moments touch us deeply. The loud moments fill us with joy. Both are expressions of the same precious thing—a heart that has opened and chosen to reach out.

We do not measure the sincerity of welcome by its volume or its form, but by the love that moves beneath the surface, by the courage it takes to show up and say, in whatever way feels true, I believe in what you are doing.

While we gently encourage a more mindful and quieter way of greeting when possible, we deeply appreciate every welcome we receive. What matters most is that we come together—however that looks, however that sounds—because peace has called us, and love has made us brave enough to answer.

We cherish every welcome, in all its many forms. Thank you all so much for walking with us on this path of peace.

Tomorrow we continue our journey through Georgia, heading from Morrow to Decatur. We are grateful for the continued support and warm welcome we receive along the way.

🌺 Itinerary for Day 66:

- Lunch Stop: 3181 Rainbow Dr, Decatur, GA 30034 (Visiting Hours: 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM)

- Peace Gathering: After lunch, we will walk to Beacon Municipal Complex, 105 Electric Ave, Decatur, GA 30030 for a Peace Gathering at 2:30 PM.

- Overnight Rest: Tobie Grant Recreation Center, 593 Parkdale Dr, Scottdale, GA 30079 (Visiting Hours: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

We warmly welcome everyone to visit us during the visiting hours and join us for the Peace Gathering!
