January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the HPV vaccine. Cervical cancer was once the leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States. Now, thanks to cervical cancer screening and the HPV vaccination, it is the most preventable of all female cancers. Women can lower their risk for cervical cancer by getting screened regularly and by getting vaccinated.

What an amazing and rewarding year! We wanted to take a moment to thank our HCN Family for all they have done for the community in 2025. Through our giving opportunities this year, we raised $37,525, sponsored over 185 children, and volunteered 288 cumulative hours. Thank you to our Associates, volunteers, partners, and friends of the network who made this possible. Because of your support, we were able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.

We’re proud to congratulate Dr. Priscilla Torres, HCN’s Chief People & Culture Officer, and Dr. Timothy Long, HCN’s Chief Clinical Officer, on being honored as South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association Healthcare Excellence Award Winners at the SFHHA Annual Meeting & Dinner.

Dr. Torres received the Champion of Workforce Excellence Award, and Dr. Long received the Pinnacle of Care Award, recognizing their dedication to advancing workforce excellence and delivering exceptional clinical care across South Florida.

We are also proud of all the finalists for their outstanding contributions to healthcare across our region.

Our hearts are full as we look back at the incredible time we had participating in His House Children's Home’s Deck the Halls event earlier this month. Thank you to the HCN volunteers who poured their time, creativity, and compassion into transforming a His House cottage into a warm, festive, and welcoming home for the holidays. Every wreath hung, light strung, and thoughtful detail added helped create a space filled with comfort, joy, and a true sense of home for the children who walk through its doors. Thank you for giving so generously and for making this season brighter.

Health Choice Network is proud to share that we achieved Experience Level 6 for Electronic Health Record (EHR) satisfaction measured by the KLAS Arch Collaborative EHR Survey. These survey results confirm that HCN health centers utilizing Epic Powered by HCN are among the most satisfied Epic users in the nation. Epic Powered by HCN has transformed the way providers and care teams at Community Health Centers work, and the data proves it. HCN is proud of this achievement and will continue to invest in our health centers to build on our success and further enhance user satisfaction.

THANK YOU to everyone who supported HCN's Angels Project. We reached our goal for the toy and gift drive and SURPASSED our goal for the gift card drive. Because of your support, we can give the children a holiday to remember. HCN was able to provide toys for the Jessie Trice Community Health System Inc., Camillus Health Concern, and Community Health of South Florida, Inc. holiday events, monetary donations for holiday items for Tampa Family Health Centers, and watches and gift cards to the children of His House Children's Home. We also participated in His House's Deck the Halls initiative to help decorate a cottage for the children. A special thank you to the HCN Elves who helped deliver the toys to our local health centers.

HCN's World AIDS Day Clinical Grand Rounds was a huge success! Thank you to all the dedicated clinicians who joined us. Your commitment, engagement, and thoughtful participation made the session both meaningful and energizing. A special thank you to Dr. Johann Torres from Miami Beach Community Health Center for his insightful presentation and valued expertise. We look forward to connecting with clinicians at future Grand Rounds sessions!

Health Choice Network was proud to be in attendance for the 2025 Open Arms Gala with Alabama Regional Medical Services (ARMS). For over 40 years, ARMS has been dedicated to serving communities throughout the state of Alabama. The gala helped to advance the ARMS mission to provide affordable, quality primary and behavioral healthcare services to Alabamians. HCN is proud to support ARMS and all they do to ensure quality healthcare is accessible to those in need.

Today is World AIDS Day, a day to unite globally to eliminate the disparities and inequities that create barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and access to HIV care. HCN's theme this year is Engage, Empower, End HIV - Connected in Care to Improve Outcomes. HCN is committed to ending the HIV epidemic by promoting universal HIV screening, leveraging EHRs for optimal care, and providing technical assistance to health centers and partners. Together, we will sustain and accelerate progress toward ending the HIV epidemic.

To close out our Diabetes Awareness Month health center spotlights, HCN is highlighting Florida Community Health Centers (FCHC), a Quality Leader in Diabetes Care and a champion of coordinated, multidisciplinary support.

Their model includes:
- Outreach to close A1c gaps, chart prepping with pended orders, and care management between visits for nutrition, activity, and lifestyle support.
- A unified diabetes protocol developed with clinicians and pharmacy, supported by an advanced-trained clinician for complex cases.
- 1:1 workflow optimization for accurate Epic documentation and monthly scorecards to track progress and quality outcomes.

FCHC’s structured, patient-centered approach is strengthening diabetes management across their communities.

Today’s Diabetes Awareness Month spotlight shines on Broward Community & Family Health Centers, Inc. (BCOM), where individualized care and whole-person support guide their approach to diabetes management.

BCOM brings:
- Interdisciplinary support from a dietitian/CDCES, endocrinologist, and behavioral health providers.
- Nutrition events and workshops, SDOH support through the CHOICE Collaborative and Food FARMacy, and recognition programs like Metabolic Mavericks.
- Staff wellness initiatives to strengthen resilience, mindfulness, and patient experience.

BCOM continues to build healthier patients, healthier staff, and a healthier community.
