Dry needling is a targeted technique that uses thin, sterile needles to release trigger points—tight bands within muscle tissue that contribute to pain, tension, and limited mobility. While it may look similar to acupuncture, dry needling is based on modern anatomical and neurological science, and is especially effective for musculoskeletal conditions.

Dry needling is offered at our Dorset & Stratton Locations to current patients. We do require an initial physical therapy examination to assess if you are a good candidate and it is safe based on your medical history.

Whether you’re dealing with nagging shoulder pain, neck/back pain, migraines/headaches, sciatica, or a nagging calf/hamstring strain this technique can help relax stubborn muscles, improve blood flow, and accelerate your recovery.

Dorset Physio Physical Therapy Team in partnership with the Church of Dorset & East Rupert will be offering free fall prevention/balance screenings.

When: Wednesday November 5th 9am -12pm

Who: Free Balance Screenings performed by licensed physical therapists as well as our resident PT student from UVM will be present.

Cost: Free & Open to the Public 🆓
Donations are welcome & will go to the Community Sharing Project 😇

October is National PT Month and excited to bring back our patient of the month celebration! This month we are thrilled to celebrate Sherry L. as our Patient of the Month!

Sherry can to us to recover from her first total knee replacement from RRMC Ortho’s amazing surgical team rrmcvt. Her goal was to regain her mobility and get back to spending time with her grandkids. While she faced some difficult days of recovery, she never lost her optimism, consistently arrived at every session with a smile, and exceeded her goals.

Congratulations, Sherry! Your dedication is a testament to what is possible with hard work and a positive spirit. We are so proud of your progress and couldn't be happier to have you as part of our clinic family. We miss you and see you next year for knee #2!

🌟Welcome to the Team, Andrea Salo, PTA🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome Andrea Salo, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, to the Dorset Physio family!

Andrea brings with her a wealth of experience, a strong foundation in exercise science, and a genuine passion for helping people move better and live healthier lives. With a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science and an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting, she’s been nationally licensed since 2017 and has made a lasting impact in both clinical and educational settings.

Her journey has taken her from skilled nursing facility and outpatient clinics to local schools, where she’s supported students of all ages with mobility and development. She’s also been a dedicated educator, teaching physical education and promoting active, healthy lifestyles in our community.

Andrea joined us in August 2025, and her holistic approach, clinical expertise, and warm, energetic spirit have already made her an incredible asset to our team.

Outside the clinic, Andrea is a proud mom of three, a youth sports coach, a nature enthusiast, and a creative soul who loves gardening and crafting.
