❄️ Cold Weather Reminder from Wiregrass Wound & Amputation Prevention Center ❄️

When temperatures drop, our skin becomes more fragile, and wounds can take longer to heal. Cold weather can reduce circulation, dry out skin, and make even small cuts more likely to turn into bigger problems.

If you’re noticing cracked skin, slow-healing wounds, or increased numbness or color changes in your feet or legs, it’s important not to ignore the signs.

At Wiregrass Wound & Amputation Prevention Center, we’re here to help you protect your health all winter long, one step at a time.

📞 Don’t wait on healing. Cold weather makes prevention even more important.

Wiregrass, these temperatures are all over the place, and your skin can feel it.

When the weather flips from warm to chilly, people with chronic wounds, diabetes, or circulation issues may notice more dryness, irritation, or slower healing. A few simple steps can make a big difference:

• Keep skin moisturized: Sudden cold snaps can dry skin quickly, making it more vulnerable to cracks or breakdown.
• Protect your feet: If you have diabetes or neuropathy, check your feet daily and wear well-fitted shoes and clean socks.
• Stay on top of wound care: Keep dressings clean, dry, and changed as directed. Temperature changes can impact moisture levels.
• Don’t ignore changes: Redness, swelling, or increased drainage are signs to get things checked sooner rather than later.

Our team is here to help you stay healthy and healing through every weather swing the Wiregrass sends our way.

If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re just a call away. 💚

Wiregrass, the temps are dropping, and cooler weather can bring new challenges for those managing wounds or circulation issues. 🍂

When it’s cold, blood flow to your hands and feet can decrease, making it harder for wounds to heal and easier for them to worsen. That’s why it’s especially important to keep a close eye on any sores, blisters, or changes in your skin during the colder months.

At Wiregrass Wound and Amputation Prevention Center, our team is here to help you stay comfortable, heal faster, and avoid complications all season long.

Don’t wait until a small wound becomes a bigger concern. Schedule your appointment today and let our compassionate experts take care of you. 💚
