The story of RAO Heart & Vascular began in St. Louis. 📍
While training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, two young cardiologists met during their medical training.

Dr. Peter Rao and Dr. Faye Rao shared the same passion: helping people live longer, healthier lives through expert cardiovascular care.

That journey eventually brought them to Dothan in 2009, where they’ve been serving the Wiregrass ever since.

In 2022, they opened RAO Heart & Vascular to create a practice centered around compassionate care and advanced cardiology.

And the story continues every day with the patients they serve. ❤

Meet Dr. Peter Rao, Interventional Cardiologist and co-founder of RAO Heart & Vascular. ❤

Dr. Rao earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University before completing nine years of advanced training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, where he completed:

• Internal Medicine Residency
• Fellowship in Adult Cardiovascular Disease
• Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology

Since moving to Dothan in 2009, Dr. Rao has helped serve the Wiregrass community and was involved in starting the Structural Heart Program at Southeast Health.

His passion is bringing advanced cardiovascular care to the patients of this region. 🩺

When Dr. Peter and Dr. Faye Rao moved to Dothan in 2009, they quickly fell in love with the Wiregrass community.

For more than a decade, they’ve been dedicated to providing cardiovascular care close to home for the patients of this region.

Opening RAO Heart & Vascular in 2022 allowed them to continue that mission and build a practice centered around compassionate care.
