We are so incredibly touched by a very special donation to our Pediatric floors!
Little Miss Hartford, Ellis Ann Sorrells, visited us recently to deliver "Sibling Smiles Packs" in honor of her sister, Molly.
Ellis Ann knows firsthand what it’s like to spend long hours in the hospital waiting while a sibling undergoes tests or surgery. To help other brothers and sisters facing those same long waits, she put together these amazing packs filled with crayons, coloring books, stickers, and stamps.
Her hope is that these gifts will bring comfort, joy, and a little bit of fun to children while they support their siblings at Southeast Health Medical Center.

As 2025 comes to a close, the Foundation team is filled with immense gratitude.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and dedication of our donors and volunteers, we can proudly say this has been our most successful year yet!
The impact of your support has been vast, spanning from HeartSafe designations throughout Houston County and critical equipment purchases for Southeast Health to life-changing scholarships for our students at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, but if we tried to name every achievement, we would surely miss something. What we know for certain is that every milestone reached was made possible by the unwavering commitment of our employee partners, community donors, and volunteers.

We are proud to present a check for $320,000.00 to the Southeast Health Medical Center Lab to fund a Blood Product Irradiator. Patients requiring irradiated blood in the past, including those courageously battling blood cancers and our tiniest warriors in the NICU, often had to wait while blood products were sent away to be treated and returned. Now, this life-saving process will happen on-site, providing faster, safer care when every minute counts. This milestone was made possible through our annual Champions of Hope fundraising efforts and was championed this year by Southeast Health Foundation Trustee Emeriti Dawn Theune and Carmen Adams. They led this mission in loving memory of their husbands, Bob Theune and Bill Adams, whom we sadly lost to their own cancer battles this year. We are honored to carry on Bob’s and Bill’s legacies by bringing this vital technology to Southeast Health. Thank you to everyone who donated to make this a reality for our community!
