A memory:
Just back from vacation, really enjoyed seeing my family again. My dad is going to be 90 in December, he's been diagnosed with dementia, and my heart broke when i saw him sitting in his chair, head dropped and drifting off to sleep...he stayed that way almost all day. I also noticed he wasn't wearing his hearing aids, when I asked why, he said couldn't find them. I found them in his room, caked with ear wax, and not working. I cleaned them up for him and put a fresh battery in both, they fired right up... when I put them in his ears, HE fired right up, his countenance changed, his smile broadened, and that "lost" look he had disappeared... hearing connects you to the life around you and the people you love; if you have a mom or dad who seem detached and uninvolved, don't let them sit there, take them to get their hearing checked, or if they have aids, make sure they aren't clogged with wax, most aids found in a drawer are just that, clogged, clean them out, and they are good as new! Helping people hear better! I love what I do! love my Dad too!! Love seeing his smile and hearing his wisdom!

Look who stopped by, full of thanks for our teamwork! Referred to Dr. Harris, then sent to Birmingham. He is sooo excited, as i am too!
He’s doing great with his cochlear implant and is already way ahead of the game! 🎉 we fit the one side, and Dr. Rodgers did the rest!
He’s so excited to be hearing again. Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.
This is what purpose looks like. 💛

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Today, I celebrate Ann—the one who led by example, speaking words of wisdom, correction, and most importantly, words of love. She was the mom God graciously loaned to me for a long time, just when I needed her most. And though she’s gone now, her influence remains.

I also think of Granny Dillard, a true powerhouse whose presence shaped so many memories. And Miss Dorothy, who always made me feel included and loved. Life has a way of bringing incredible women into our lives, each one leaving a lasting mark in their own season.

I’m so grateful for each of them and the lessons they brought.

To everyone who has a mother figure—whether she’s here or in your heart—I hope you take a moment today to remember, celebrate, and cherish them.
