"As human beings, we need to take care of each other. Probably more than we do these days." -Tom

Our work is built on the kindness of people who show up, listen, and care. In our final Volunteer Spotlight installment, we’re excited to introduce Tom Adams, one of the many volunteers who make Pine Tree Hospice a source of connection and support in our community.

Tom is a retired chef and restaurant manager who began volunteering with his wife, Marji (featured last week!), in 2023. He brings warmth, humor, and practical life experience to clients who simply need someone to talk with and spend time alongside.

Tom shows that hospice volunteering can be grounded in simple human interaction. If you enjoy listening and connecting with older neighbors, consider signing up to volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice today!

Behind every visit, conversation, and moment of comfort is a volunteer who makes it possible. This week, we’re honored to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on Sherry Corbin, whose time and compassion help bring Pine Tree Hospice’s mission to life. Sherry has donated more than 3,000 hours of her time to this organization!

Sherry is a retired nursing professor who has volunteered with Pine Tree Hospice since 2003. Much of her service has centered on education, committee leadership, and providing steady bedside companionship to clients and families.

If you value learning and offering a compassionate presence, sign up to volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice.

It's a new week, so it's time for another volunteer spotlight! Each week we are posting about one of the amazing volunteers that make our work at Pine Tree Hospice possible. Today we celebrate April Dauphinee!

April is a retired Duvaltex accounts receivable professional from Guilford who turned to Pine Tree Hospice in 2017 after the death of her husband. She has spent years building joyful, one-on-one relationships with clients, especially those with memory issues.

April reminds us that hospice volunteering can begin right where life leaves us—seeking connection and purpose. If you’re wondering what comes next for you, consider signing up to volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice and see where it leads!
