Pine Tree Hospice Volunteers are the heart of our mission. Each week we are posting about one of the amazing volunteers that make our work possible. Our Volunteer Spotlight this week highlights Cheri Goodspeed!

Cheri is a long-time community volunteer from Greenville who came to Pine Tree Hospice after retirement. She has been serving as a direct care volunteer since 2022, using compassion and humor to connect with clients.

Cheri shows that hospice volunteering is about presence, conversation, and choice. If you’re ready to offer community support in a way that fits your life, sign up to volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice today!

Each week, we are highlighting an incredible Pine Tree Hospice Volunteer. Our Volunteer Spotlight this week celebrates Priscilla Higgins!

Priscilla is Pine Tree Hospice’s most veteran volunteer, serving since 1998 after finding grief support through hospice following the death of her son. A retired special education teacher, she continues to bring warmth, perspective, and enthusiasm to direct care and bereavement work.

Priscilla invites others with enthusiasm: “jump right in!” Honor her nearly 30-year service legacy by becoming part of the next generation of Pine Tree Hospice volunteers!

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be highlighting a few of the amazing volunteers who make our mission possible! For our first Volunteer Spotlight, we’re introducing you to Patty Cook. Thank you, Patty, for your dedication and support!

Patty began volunteering with Pine Tree Hospice in 2021 after a year of research to find the right organization. A retired project manager, she now chairs the Education Committee and serves as a direct care volunteer, appreciating the structure and positivity the role brings to her week.

Patty’s experience proves that trying volunteer hospice is easier than most imagine. If you’ve wondered whether it might be for you, follow her lead and sign up to volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice!
