The day will include:

Morning Session (9–12): Review of key material from last year’s training and an introduction to how children experience grief

Lunch/Sharing Hour (12–1): Opportunity to connect with other participants and exchange experiences (lunch provided)

Afternoon Session (1–3): Hands-on practice in active and reflective listening, plus guidance on running a children’s grief group

Participants may register for the morning, afternoon, or both sessions.

Talking about death won’t kill you! Pine Tree Hospice will host a monthly Death Café beginning Sunday, December 14, 2025. The recurring event will take place from 1–3 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month at the Guilford Memorial Library.

We are excited to announce this unique offering to the community! Death cafés aim to offer space to discuss anything death related, which let’s be honest, we all think about. Cafés have no agenda or objectives and are not grief support sessions, just offer a relaxed atmosphere to share thoughts, ideas, worries, and more. Pine Tree Hospice is updating our Free Private Duty Provider Directory—a free community resource we share with families and service providers across Piscataquis, Penobscot, and Somerset Counties who need extra help beyond our non-medical volunteer hospice services.

If you offer in-home support with medical or personal care and would like to be listed, it’s completely free to join! The directory is designed to save both the caregiver and provider time when selecting care and includes provider name, contact info, services, credentials, hourly rate, service area, and availability.
