🍂 Enjoying the Outdoors Safely – Take advantage of autumn days with short walks or time outside enjoying the foliage. Just watch for uneven ground and fallen leaves, which can be slippery.
👥 Staying Social – Autumn is a wonderful time to connect. Join group activities, share stories over cider, or participate in community events to help prevent isolation.
💪 Boosting Wellness – Shorter days can affect mood and energy. Light exercise, engaging activities, and balanced meals with seasonal produce like squash, apples, and root veggies help maintain overall health.
❄️ Planning Ahead for Winter – Fall is a natural time to prepare for the colder months, when driving, shoveling, and home upkeep become more challenging. Extra support can make all the difference.

to September’s Assisted Living Week at Johnson Creek Village! ✨

We celebrated a week full of joy, laughter, and connection. Festive decorations, whimsical hot air balloon displays, fun photo ops, lively games, and a visit from our four-legged superhero friend kept smiles all around. 🐾

A highlight of the week was honoring our residents with personalized awards — from ‘Most Humorous’ and ‘Best Secret Keeper’ to ‘Guardian of JCV’ and our very own ‘JCV Fashionista.’ It was so much fun to celebrate the personalities that make Johnson Creek so special. 💙

🍂 Last week we opened our doors for a Fall Open House at Johnson Creek Village. It was the perfect way to kick off the season! Guests enjoyed warm apple cider, seasonal bites (Chef Josh’s butternut squash bisque was our favorite!), and tours of our cozy community. Newman, our beloved pet therapy dog, and his owner Heidi brought plenty of smiles, too.

A big thank-you to our industry partners and friends who stopped by! Your support made the afternoon feel full of connection and community. 🧡

We had such a wonderful time coming together with residents, families, and staff to celebrate with a fun country western theme. From cowboy hats and photo booth smiles to games, music, and plenty of delicious food hot off the grill, the day was filled with laughter, connection, and community.

Events like this remind us how special it is to share moments not just as neighbors, but as family. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable — we’re already looking forward to the next celebration! ❤️

This heartwarming photo captures Rose York with Newman, our beloved therapy dog, at Johnson Creek Village. Every Friday, Newman and his owner Heidi visit our residents, bringing comfort, joy, and connection through storytelling and pet therapy.

Heidi’s bond with Johnson Creek began when her mother, Rose, became one of our first residents. Even after Rose’s passing, Heidi and Newman continue to visit weekly — an act of love that has become part of our home’s rhythm. As Heidi says, “It feels like home here. This is where my momma was, and I’ve gotten to know everyone.”

We are so grateful for Heidi and Newman, who remind us of the healing power of love, companionship, and a wagging tail. 💛
