Came up with this thought. I hope it can provide inspiration to anyone who is struggling today.

Everyday gets easier, but also harder at the same time. Life is a test. We can succumb to the noise that can live rent free in our head or we can use the positives and negatives that are evident around us to build ourselves up to be a better version of ourselves. We are always striving to touch up our internal and external Picasso painting that was damaged from our prior way of life that is not who we are anymore. Our daily actions show us that we can strive for and be the person we were meant to be prior to all of the madness.

Recovery is a journey, and recognizing the early warning signs of relapse can help you stay on track.

Triggers such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance use, or returning to environments associated with past gambling can increase the risk of relapse. You may also notice changes like increased urges, secrecy, or feeling overly confident about gambling “just once.”

Seeking help early is key. Reaching out to a counselor, support group, or trusted resource—even after a small lapse—can prevent a full relapse and help you regain control.

You are not alone, and support is available whenever you need it.

Is the money or time you’re spending gambling causing problems in your life? Give yourself a break. One tool that many people find useful is self-exclusion. That is when you voluntarily complete a form to opt-out of gambling in all casinos and/or with all sports wagering operators in Maine for a chosen length of time. The self-exclusion process can be completed online with the assistance of trained staff. The process is fast, easy, and you don’t need to leave your home or office to do it. Exploring new hobbies and activities can play a powerful role in recovery.

Filling your time with positive, engaging activities helps reduce urges, manage stress, and create a healthier routine. Physical activities like walking, yoga, or gardening can improve mood and energy, while social connections—through support groups, volunteering, or community events—can reduce isolation and build accountability.

Creative outlets like cooking, journaling, or art can also provide a sense of purpose and help process emotions in a healthy way.

Recovery isn’t just about stopping a behavior—it’s about building a life that supports your well-being.

If you need support, help is always available.
