Introducing UH TECH Career Camp, Fall 2011: Our UH TECH (Teens Exploring Careers in Healthcare) program for the 2011/2012 school year will take place Friday evening, November 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Noember 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students grades 9 - 12 can get an up-close, hands-on look at careers in nursing, radiology, surgery, laboratory, and more. Program is free and limited to the first 60 who register by calling (330) 602-0778.

According to Salary.com, the median expected yearly earnings of physical therapists in the US is currently $74,431. While many therapists have a bachelor's degree, PTs will be required to also obtain a doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT) in the near future.

Scholarship announcement: Since our April meeting was canceled, we have extended the UH TECH scholarship application deadline to May 5 (our next meeting date). Mail or bring your application in by May 5 at 6:00 p.m. The scholarship award recipient will be notified shortly after the May 5 meeting.
