Great Bay Services is grateful to officially announce the approval of $264,000 in federal Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) to support the purchase of accessible vehicles and related expenses for our Maine programs.

“Transportation has presented a major barrier to community access for our members, and especially those in Maine,” shared Jon Stimmell, Great Bay Services Executive Director. “This initiative would not have been possible without the support of Senator Collins and her dedicated staff.”

Our first cooking class with the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97 was a success! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

The Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97 secured a generous grant from the Elks National Foundation to fund a series of cooking classes for Great Bay Services members. We kicked off our collaborations this week with a delicious salad and chicken! 🥗

These classes are designed to empower our members' cooking skills while emphasizing healthy habits. A tremendous thank you to the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97 for making this opportunity possible, and to the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97 cooking class chefs for their dedication and patience in teaching new skills 🙌

Congressman Chris Pappas visited our program and met with GBS members, families and guardians, staff, Board Members, and community members.

We were excited to host our elected representative and appreciate that he took the time to come and visit our program and hear from our members and stakeholders.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our GBS community to learn, share, and advocate. Members and stakeholders shared an honest conversation that included energy costs, transportation, wages, supported living, and other concerns that affect not only the greater GBS community, but all NH residents.

We appreciate Congressman Chris Pappas and his team for taking time to connect, listen, inform, and collaborate with our GBS community.
