On December 23rd, the Middletown Cadet Squadron DE-025 delivered a generous toy donation to Bayhealth Kent Pediatric Department, reminding us all what the spirit of the season is truly about. Their goal was to support military families and we were proud to share that Bayhealth serves and supports members of all branches of the military.

Earlier that morning, Nicole Curley, the mother of two of the cadets, reached out to help coordinate the donation and set the stage for a moment that could not have been more perfectly timed.

That same day, a postpartum mother arrived at the Emergency Room with her newborn and was admitted to the Birthing Center. With her husband currently serving as a military contractor out of state, her family, including three small children, were navigating a challenging and emotional time during the holidays.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the cadets, we were able to put together special holiday gifts for each of her children, bringing comfort, joy and a sense of togetherness when it was needed most. The mother shared her heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and support shown to her family.

Moments like these remind us that compassion, teamwork and community can make a lasting difference, especially during the holidays.

Thank you to the Middletown Cadet Squadron DE-025 and everyone who helped make this meaningful donation possible. Your kindness truly embodied the spirit of the holidays. ❤️🎁

Bayhealth’s Community Health Needs Assessment highlights accessibility and health equity as top priorities. With Delaware’s aging population driving increased demand for care, Bayhealth is expanding access through multiple sites of care, telehealth, and medical training programs. The assessment also underscores the need for culturally and linguistically appropriate services as the state’s diverse populations continue to grow.

Bayhealth has completed its latest Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), a comprehensive process conducted every three years to identify the most pressing health needs of the communities we serve. More than 4,000 residents across Kent and Sussex counties contributed through survey responses that are now guiding Bayhealth’s Community Outreach team’s next steps in improving community health.

As part of this work, Bayhealth created the CHNA survey in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole to ensure it was accessible to more members of our community. Our teams partnered with schools, churches, nonprofits, advocacy groups and grassroots organizations throughout Kent and Sussex counties to gather feedback from populations who are often underrepresented in traditional health assessments. These partnerships are helping build trust in communities with significant needs, ensuring every voice is respected and every perspective helps guide the work ahead.

The Drive Out Cancer Golf Outing returned to Deerfield Golf Club this fall, continuing a tradition that began with the gratitude and generosity of a Bayhealth patient determined to give back.

The event was founded by grateful patient Stephanie Keys who, alongside a close-knit group of family and friends, launched the outing to support the Bayhealth Cancer Institute. Keys formed meaningful relationships with her care team throughout her cancer journey, especially with Sandi Voss, a longtime team member in the Cancer Center. Voss volunteered for the tournament and played a key role in planning this year’s event. Read more here https://bayhealth.info/Foundation-Golf-25 now.
