Bayhealth is a technologically advanced not-for-profit healthcare system employing over 4,000 with a medical staff of 600 physicians.

Bayhealth’s mission is to strengthen the health of our community, one life at a time. As central and southern Delaware’s largest healthcare system, Bayhealth is comprised of Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus and Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus, the freestanding Emergency Department in Smyrna as well as numerous satellite facilities and employed physician practices encompassing a variety of specialties. Bayhealth is a technologically advanced not-for-profit healthcare system with more than 4,000 employees and a medical staff of more than 400 physicians. In Fiscal Year 2020, Bayhealth recorded 96,820 emergency department visits, 18,574 patients admitted to beds, 2,241 births, and provided $68.16 million in unreimbursed care to patients.

Today Bayhealth and TidalHealth came together for our Joint Education Day, a day grounded in transformational leadership, collaboration and genuine partnership.

Bringing our teams together was not just about sharing best practices. It was about strengthening the relationships, ideas and collective vision that will elevate the care we provide to our communities. The nurse leaders in the room today are truly changing the gauge in healthcare, leading with purpose, compassion and innovation.

We are especially grateful for leaders like Rosi Wurster, Chief Nurse Executive at Bayhealth and Angie Brittingham, Chief Nursing Officer at TidalHealth. Their commitment to keeping patients at the center of every decision continues to inspire us and pave the way for meaningful progress across our region.

Together, we are building a future where collaboration drives outcomes, partnerships strengthen our practice and our community benefits from the very best in nursing leadership.

Registration for the 2025 Nursing Research Conference ends Friday!

Don't miss the chance to hear from keynote speaker Barbara Quinn, DNP, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, FNCS, through her lecture titled "Applying the IOWA Model of Evidence-Based Practice: A Personal Journey to Prevent Non-Ventilator Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia."

Barbara has 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and 16 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, utilizing evidence-based practice and the science of process improvement to positively impact patient outcomes. She recently retired from her role as the Director of Professional Practice & Nursing Excellence for the Sutter Health System of hospitals in California and continues to research, educate and consult with a focus on nurse-sensitive outcomes.

The conference is open to anyone interested in healthcare research, including Bayhealth team members and outside attendees, and it's a great way to learn and network with your peers!
