Langdon Place of Dover held the second monthly Memory Cafe for residents and Seacoast families this week. Heather Ericson, our Residential Care Director and Certified Dementia Specialist conducted the clinic entitled "How to Manage Behaviors with Dementia". We had a good turnout for the Cafe.

After the slideshow presentation we opened the floor to questions and concerns from our attendees who were having challenges with their loved ones.

The Memory Cafe at Langdon Place of Dover is conducted monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-3 pm and is open to anybody in the Seacoast area. Cornerstone VNA and Langdon Place of Dover are partnering on the Cafe that features a monthly topic with guest speakers and lots of resources and support for memory caregivers.

No RSVP is required. Please join us next month when we focus on the caregivers with a topic of Tips For Caring For Individuals with Dementia to help them in their daily lives. The next Memory Cafe is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 from 2 -3 pm.

cookie bake-off 2026

Residents challenged our staff to a fun and friendly Cookie Bake-Off! Residents submitted their favorite homemade cookie recipes—past and present—and our staff baked each one. Everyone enjoyed taste‑testing the delicious results with a classic glass of milk… because what pairs better with cookies?

The winners were the Greek Almond cookies & Lemon bars!

Langdon Place of Dover kicked off our Memory Cafe last week with a presentation on "Why choose a memory care facility vs. living at home". Our Residential Care Director Heather Ericson who is a certified dementia specialist, conducted the presentation for the attendees. Following the presentation, we opened the floor to questions and concerns/challenges our attendees are having with their relatives with dementia. They were able to obtain valuable advice and insight to help them care for their loved ones.

The memory cafe is a joint program between Langdon Place of Dover and Cornerstone VNA. The Cafe meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-3 pm. Each month a new dementia-related topic will be discussed. Our next topic will be "Managing Behaviors with Dementia". The flyer for the next 5 Memory Cafe presentations is attached.

If you would like to attend, no RSVP is necessary. You are welcome to attend and bring your loved one with you. We encourage Seacoast residents to take advantage of this free program.
