The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) provides dynamic recreation programs and quality services for individuals with disabilities served by the park districts of Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Westmont, and Woodridge, and the villages of Brookfield, Indian Head Park, and Western Springs, Illinois. Our page provides an opportunity for you to connect, share, and communicate with SEASPAR and fellow fans. We expect all of the interactions on our Page to be pertinent, respectful, and appropriate for a public forum. We have the right to remove content from our Page which falls into one or more of the following categories:

1. Comments not topically related to the particular content being commented upon;
2. Profane or sexual language, links, or content;
3. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, marital status, disability, or sexual orientation;
4. Solicitations of commerce or unapproved promotion of services or products not approved by SEASPAR;

For five decades, SEASPAR has been playing the sound of inclusion 🎶—a rhythm built by our participants, families, staff, volunteers, and supporters. Each program, each friendship 🤗, and each moment of joy 😄 has added another note to the story we share.

Recreation is not just something we do—it is essential. 🌟 It creates space for confidence, connection, growth, and the freedom to simply be yourself.

Today, we celebrate the community that makes SEASPAR possible 💙 and the many voices that have helped shape our first 50 years.

SEASPAR athletes brought the heat to the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Basketball Tournament on February 1! 🏀💪

🥇 Blue Team — 1st place, gold medal, and State-bound! 🌟
🥉 White Team — 3rd place and bronze medal winners
💙 Teal Team — 4th place with heart, hustle, and growth on full display

We are so proud of every athlete who took the court and showed what teamwork, dedication, and inclusion look like in action. 🙌✨

💖 February reminded us just how powerful friendship is within the SEASPAR community. 🤝✨

This month was filled with celebration, connection, and shared joy — from creating nearly 60 Valentine’s Day cards 💌 for the Mental Health Division at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, to dancing 💃, playing Bingo 🎉, sharing meals 🍽️, and singing karaoke 🎤 together.

At SEASPAR, friendship means showing up for one another. It means cheering each other on 📣, laughing together 😂, and spreading kindness beyond our own programs. 🌟

We value the relationships built here. We celebrate them. And we are grateful every day for the community we share. 💙

📣💙 Supporting Our Woodridge Community 💙📣

We’re excited to share a wonderful opportunity from our friends at the Woodridge Public Library!

The library is exploring the creation of a monthly social club program for teens and adults with cognitive disabilities, and they want to hear directly from the community. Listening to families, educators, and caregivers is a key part of shaping a program that truly meets the needs and interests of those it will serve.

To help kick off this process, they are inviting community members to take a short survey and share it with anyone who supports or works with this population. Your voice matters, and your input will help guide the future of this inclusive program.

Please consider participating and spreading the word. Together, we can help build meaningful, welcoming spaces for everyone in our community. 💙

🏀💙 A Special Moment on January 6 💙🏀

Our Special Olympics Illinois Spartans Basketball team had an unforgettable experience on January 6, when members of the La Grange Park Police Department surprised us by attending the game!

The Police Chief and several Lieutenants took the time to watch the game, cheer on our athletes, and capture photos with the team after the game. Their presence meant so much to our players and families, turning an already great game into a truly meaningful moment.

Thank you to the La Grange Park Police Department for your time, encouragement, and continued support of our athletes and inclusive recreation. Community partnerships like this remind us how powerful connection and kindness can be.

We are grateful to stand together on and off the court.
