Today, Dave describes himself as a “music enabler," someone who helps others experience the joy, connection, and meaning that music can bring.

Love in Action at Oak Trace! 🚓🚒💙

Our community recently put our hearts into action at our Love in Action event, where we had the honor of delivering lunches to the dedicated firefighters and police officers serving the Downers Grove community.

These everyday heroes show up for us 24/7, responding to emergencies, keeping our neighborhoods safe, and caring for our community with courage and commitment. It was our turn to show up for them with a small token of appreciation and a whole lot of gratitude.
We are so thankful for the men and women who serve and protect, today and every day!

Move Over, Milan!

The loudest cheers in Olympic competition last week were not echoing through the Alps.

They were ringing out inside Beacon Hill as they welcomed rival athletes from our community for a spirited showdown that proved you do not need Alpine peaks to feel Olympic pride. The building was festooned with themed Olympic décor, transforming Beacon Hill into its own version of an international arena.

💖 Love That Lasts at Oak Trace 💖

This February, we’re celebrating love that lasts right here in our community! Lindy Pond and John Rohlfing both moved to Oak Trace in August 2022, just one week apart. While they saw each other often, their story truly began months later, after a chance conversation in the mailroom led to a Memorial Day outing, and even a scenic flight over the countryside, piloted by John, a former TWA pilot.

From there, their connection grew naturally. Nearly three years later, Lindy and John enjoy movies, Sunday dinners, bowling league, and serving on committees together.
They’re continually amazed by how much they have in common and feel grateful to have found love again, when they least expected it.

💕 Stay tuned all month as we spotlight more couples in our community whose stories remind us that love has no age limit.
