Dr. Stein has been practicing for over 40 years. He is cutting back his schedule, but has no plans to retire in the near future. We hope to see you soon we also have a new doctor working for us Dr. Demi Hoang. And we are now taking walk-in again. Thank you so much.

Hello to all of our patients the end of the year is approaching fast please schedule your appointments we are pretty booked for November already and December is 60 percent book so please dont wait til the last minute. We can wait to see everyone. And Dr Stein will start working only Thursdays starting January 2025. Dr Wong will be working the rest of the days. Happy holidays

Downey Eyecare Center has a rich history of caring doctors who have served our Downey and Bellflower community for more than 44 years. That rich legacy continues on today with Dr. David Stein, Dr. Norman Wong.

Family Practice – Two Family Legacies

Downey Eyecare Center is a family practice that continues today from the original Stein Optometric, founded by Dr. David Stein’s father in 1964. Stein Optometric which was later merged with Downey Eyecare. The optometrist brothers Mike Cohen and Stan Cohen formed their own eyecare practice in 1972. The two families joined as Stein Optometric merged with the Cohens to form Downey Eyecare in 2006.
