Feeling more stressed than usual? We've got a few quick tips to get you though:

๐Ÿ. ๐Œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐›๐จ๐๐ฒ. Movement decreases stress levels. Incorporate some form of exercise into your daily life, even if it's for a short duration. Start by committing to a quick (5-15 minute) stretch session or walk.

๐Ÿ. ๐†๐ž๐ญ ๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐ž๐ž๐ฉ. Sometimes after a busy day we "reward" ourselves with mindless scrolling or a favorite show. That's fine, except when it leads to less sleep! Sleep is always important but even more so when life is busy.

๐Ÿ‘. ๐…๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ง๐ฎ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. On our busiest days, we may reach for food that is quick and convenient. But grab-and-go snacks don't have to be unhealthy. Ditto frozen meals. Read labels and make the best choices you can. And don't forget to eat! Busy days (and nights) require proper fuel.

๐Ÿ’. ๐ƒ๐จ๐ง'๐ญ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ. Give yourself permission to decline invitations and opportunities that aren't essential. Sometimes our stress is self-induced. Step back, figure out what's most important, and get better at saying "no" to things that are optional.

๐Ÿ“. ๐‹๐ž๐ญ ๐ ๐จ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. Sometimes when life is busy, we can't stay on top of things like we usually do. And that's ok! Remind yourself that a messy house and dirty laundry are temporary. Focus on what matters, and be kind to yourself!

Health professionals recommend 60 minutes of physical activity per day for children with autism and 30 minutes per day for adults with autism.

Benefits of physical activity for people on the spectrum include improved communication skills, improved focus, reduced stress, and can even prevent diseases by improving cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

The physical activity can be catered to the individuals preferences. Hopscotch, gardening, jumprope, rollerskating, or simply walking are all good options.
