Hello everyone!!! Hope everyone is having a good evening. Coral Reef Sea Sponges are planning to be at the farmers market on 5th avenue in Brooklyn (around 5th and Douglas) we will be there for a few hours in the morning as long as the weather is nice. Any change in schedule will be posted. Please remember supplies are limited.

How are our sponges processed?

The raw sponges are first soaked in water and then partially dried to the point where the sponges are still damp, but the excess water has been removed. The damp sponges, which are easier to cut than when dry, are then trimmed to remove any remaining roots or any other unwanted portions. When drying in sunlight they are put on a towel in the sun for about 8-12 hours until dry.

Have you ever thought about what our ancestors used to wash themselves before there were synthetic sponges??

From my research I have learned that Sea Sponges was a favorite among the ancient Greeks and Roman people. They would tie the sponge to a stick in order
To wash themselves. All the organic materials that make up a sea sponge is a great to detoxify and exfoliate your skin during your daily routine. Return to natural things and get rid of your synthetic sponges and wash clothes and opt for a more smarter healthier product to restore yourself to feeling clean.

They are then dried out and sent to us in Brooklyn for packaging. We are proud to take you back to your roots and be your source of sea sponges directly from the Sea.
