A couple of months ago, a writer from reached out to me to discuss my experiences as a primary caregiver for my mother, just two months after her passing.

At that time, he was working on an article focused on caregiver advocacy, a cause that remains a priority for me.

The article highlights the importance of aligning hospitals with partnerships. Kudos to the changemakers mentioned in the piece who are making strides in this area; I hope to contribute similarly.

Being part of this solution feels incredibly rewarding. My journey as a caregiver began in 2020 and 2021 when I was finally able to accompany my mother during her hospital stays. This experience prompted me to pivot my focus and introduce Integrity Recovery Connected, aimed at fostering genuine partnerships between and .

The article also touches on how mental health professionals and caregiver advocacy are addressing similar issues. I am proud to be involved in addressing these challenges and contributing to a health check component from the caregiver’s perspective. This initiative lives on through and its enterprise app, designed specifically for loved ones and their caregivers bridging a gap with healthcare providers. By elevating the caregiver’s perspective, we can simplify processes for everyone involved, creating a win-win situation for all stakeholders.Someone once said if you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work! ❤️

As we approach , it’s important to reflect on the power of gratitude and community. Kelly, the Chief Interventionist at embodies this spirit in her work. She leads a dedicated team that organizes a luncheon at Foothill Medical Center in Southern California twice a year. This event brings together around 50 Recovery Centers and their leaders, creating a warm atmosphere where like-minded individuals can gather, share a meal, and reconnect. During these gatherings, they exchange updates on their services and reinforce their shared commitment to improving the lives of those affected by mental illness and substance use disorders. By sharing narratives, we foster connections among stakeholders, reminding them that they share similar experiences. My journey as a caregiver informs my perspective and allows me to utilize storytelling to advance healthcare .

Since 2020, a dedicated group of entertainment professionals and individuals from various fields have gathered each week to brainstorm, celebrate, educate, support, and listen to one another for about an hour. It’s a nurturing community that has consistently met every week for four years, creating a safe space for connection and growth.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share that our Chief Interventionist and Advisor, Pat Kelly (), made a remarkable appearance at the WCSAD Conference in La Quinta, Palm Springs, where over 1,600 attendees gathered! Pat participated in a panel discussion with the Addiction Treatment Advocacy Coalition (ATAC), focusing on the crucial issue of ensuring that insurance companies provide timely and adequate payments for treatment.

We at IRC are proud to be associated with such an experienced recovery professional who is deeply connected with a vibrant community of mental health and recovery advocates, as well as recovery facilities throughout the West Coast. We also extend our gratitude to our Advisor and Chemical Dependency Executive for bringing Pat into the IRC community, which is dedicated to maintaining a safe and ethical environment as we strive to support those affected by mental illness and addiction.
